Lyon · Where to stay

Staying in Confluence, Lyon

Distances matter at the southern end of the peninsula. An address near Sainte-Blandine is much closer to Perrache than one beside the museum. Use Cours Charlemagne for a direct route through the district, then turn toward the Saône for a slower walk along Quai Rambaud. The Darse basin makes a useful meeting point when your group is arriving from different directions.

Our verdict

A new waterside district at the tip of the peninsula where the two rivers meet, with big modern hotels, a shopping center and the Confluences museum.

Good for

  • Newer hotels and larger rooms
  • The Musée des Confluences and the riverside walk
  • Lower prices than the old town

Think twice if

  • You want to walk to the old town: it is a tram ride away
  • You want street life in the evening
