The wooded Bellagio promontory with red-roofed houses, blue lake water and mountains behind
Lake Como · Where to stay

Staying in Bellagio

A Bellagio address needs more checking than its distance from the water suggests. Salita Serbelloni and neighboring lanes climb sharply, so a room above the waterfront can mean carrying luggage up stone steps. The vehicle ferry and passenger boats also use different landing points. Match your accommodation to the landing you will actually use, then ask for a route that avoids unnecessary stairs.

Eating

Eating in Bellagio

The waterfront and upper lanes provide different settings for meals, but both can fill around boat arrivals. Walk a little beyond the busiest landing area before choosing. If you are staying in Pescallo or farther from the center, check nearby dinner options and the return walk before settling in.

Questions

Staying in Bellagio

Where should I stay to minimize steps?

Look close to the central waterfront and ask the property about its entrance. Even a short map distance can conceal a steep lane or staircase.

Do all boats leave from the same place?

No. Vehicle ferries and passenger services use different boarding points. Check the departure location as well as the departure time.

Can I walk to Pescallo for a change of scene?

Yes. Allow about 20 minutes from the central waterfront and expect steps as you cross the ridge between the two shores.
