Staying in the Three Cities: Birgu, Senglea and Cospicua

Treat Birgu, Senglea and Cospicua as separate places when comparing accommodation. Birgu and Senglea occupy opposite sides of Dockyard Creek, with Cospicua around its inner end. A room facing another town across the water may require a longer walk than the view suggests. Check your route to the ferry landing, the slope of the final street and whether a car can reach the door before deciding on an address.

Questions

Staying in the Three Cities: Birgu, Senglea and Cospicua

Which town should I choose for Fort St Angelo?

Choose Birgu if you want to walk to the fort without first going around Dockyard Creek. Check the final street and entrance route when comparing accommodation.

Can I walk directly across the water between Birgu and Senglea?

Plan a land route around the inner end of Dockyard Creek. Do not estimate walking time from the straight-line distance between waterfront buildings on opposite shores.

Is the ferry landing equally close to every address?

No. The three towns cover separate peninsulas and the inner creek. Check the actual walking route, including slopes and steps, before relying on the ferry for daily journeys.
