  1. Day 1: Old Town lanes and castle hill

    Morning
Start at Michael's Gate and follow Michalská to Hlavné námestie. Continue through the lanes toward St Martin's Cathedral before lunch. Visit the cathedral when access permits, allowing extra time if a service is taking place.
    Afternoon
Climb from the cathedral side through Podhradie to Bratislava Castle. Allow most of the afternoon if you want the museum as well as the grounds. Descend before dinner so you can enjoy the steep lanes without rushing.
    Evening
Walk along Hviezdoslavovo námestie toward the river. After dinner, follow the north bank toward Eurovea, stopping where you can look back at the illuminated castle and Most SNP.
    Dinner
Book Zylinder for dinner and look for a traditional meat dish on the current menu, with a glass of local wine.
  2. Day 2: City collections and the south bank

    Morning
Choose either the Old Town Hall museum or Primate's Palace for a focused indoor visit. Check opening days first. Afterwards, stop at Kaffee Mayer before walking toward the river through the southern end of the Old Town.
    Afternoon
Cross Most SNP on its pedestrian walkway and continue into Sad Janka Kráľa on the south bank. Allow time to wander the park, then return toward the bridge for the observation deck if visibility is good.
    Evening
Return to the Old Town for a wine tasting. Ask to compare Frankovka with a white wine from the Little Carpathians, then choose a nearby dinner spot so the evening stays on foot.
    Dinner
Choose a traditional pub for bryndzové halušky, the potato dumplings served with sheep's cheese, and ask which local beer is available.

  • Arrange a group wine tasting ahead and mention whether you prefer white wines, reds or a comparison.
