How we make money
Last updated 15 October 2026
The short version: when you book through a link on our sites, the partner may pay us a commission. You pay the partner’s own price, the same as going to them directly.
Who pays us
Booking sites, ticket and tour sellers and tour operators, through their affiliate programs, when someone books through our links. At the moment none of these partnerships is live, so our links go to the partners’ ordinary pages and earn us nothing. We’ll name each partner here when its program goes live.
How much
Usually a small share of what you pay: about 8% on a tour or ticket, and about 4 to 5% on a hotel. It comes out of the partner’s margin, not your pocket. Not every link earns a commission: links to official sites, such as a museum’s own ticket page, never do.
Who you book with
You book and pay on the partner’s site, never on ours. The partner sets the price and the availability, takes the payment, and handles changes, cancellations and refunds under its own terms. We never take payment and never see your card.
What commission never changes
Which places we write about, what we say about them, or the order we list them in. Hotels, restaurants and tour companies can’t pay to appear, and there’s no paid placement. If we ever show an advertisement or a sponsored listing, it will be labelled as one. How we rank and compare sets out the order in full.
How to spot a partner link
Partner buttons sit beside a line saying we may earn a commission. In the pages’ code they’re marked as sponsored links, which tells search engines too.
