Valencia airport transfers to the center
Valencia airport has a direct metro connection to central stops including Xàtiva and Colón. Your accommodation's location matters more than choosing the first departure: the metro works well for the center, while a taxi can simplify the final stretch to a beach address. Metrobus 150 is another option, but check its operating days and stops before relying on it.
The airports
- Valencia airport (VLC)
- west of the city, about 20 minutes by metro to central stops

How each one works
Metro: Metrovalencia lines 3 and 5
Follow the metro signs inside the terminal and buy a ticket covering the airport journey from a station machine. Both lines serve Xàtiva and Colón. Choose your exit stop using the accommodation address, then validate your ticket as directed.
Bus: Metrobus 150
Use the signed airport bus stop and check the official route for the stop nearest your destination. Confirm operating days, departures and accepted payment before traveling. This is a separate service from the city's EMT buses.
Taxi: Official airport taxi rank
Join the official taxi rank outside arrivals and give the driver your full accommodation address. Ask about payment before departure. For a pedestrian street in the old town, confirm the nearest accessible drop-off point with your accommodation.
Arriving late or leaving early
Check the last metro departure for your arrival day rather than assuming trains run overnight. Allow time for baggage collection and reaching the station. If public transport has finished, use the official taxi rank. For an early flight, arrange your journey before the previous evening ends.
Before you land
- Keep your reusable metro card until the end of the trip, and check which ticket it holds before adding another journey.
- Xàtiva metro station is beside Estación del Norte. Joaquín Sorolla is a different railway station, so check your onward train carefully.
- For El Cabanyal or the Malvarrosa, compare the whole public transport route with a direct taxi, including any changes and walking.
- Check Metrovalencia and the bus operator for current service hours, especially on Sundays and public holidays.

Which metro stop should I use for the old town?
Xàtiva and Colón both serve the central area. Check the walking route to your exact address, since accommodation near the northern old town may need another connection.
Does the airport metro run all night?
Do not assume overnight service. Check Metrovalencia for the first and last departures on your travel day and use a taxi if your arrival falls outside them.
Can I take a direct train to Estación del Norte?
The airport metro stops at Xàtiva, beside Estación del Norte. Follow signs to street level and walk to the railway station for Cercanías departures.
Is the bus suitable for every arrival?
Check Metrobus 150's operating days and timetable before choosing it. Your flight arrival time and the distance from its stops to your accommodation both matter.
